‘Receding Tide, Perranuthnoe’ 21x27cm.  After a couple of afternoons painting this subject en plein air, I painted this on paper in the studio shortly afterwards.  Concentrating on the quality of the marks made and on the contrast between heavy and light marks I was pleased to achieve some dynamics in the composition.  Although abstracted I think it retains the character of what is a special place for me.
