I’ve been working on this panel (40x50cm) all week…..which is unusual for me.  I usually like to work on a few or several pieces of work during the week, and often three or four on the same day.  It keeps things moving (and changing), and keeps me on my toes.  I find it harder to maintain focused intensity when I am faced with the same image for a significant length of time.  This painting, though, seemed to possess the ability to drive my creative impulses all by itself for a whole week.  It underwent more than one transformation in the process of its making but now I think it is more or less done and tells the story of a midsummer night beach celebration.
