Click on the image for the full picture.  I’ve always had a thing about beehives.  In this 80x100cm mixed media canvas I’ve amalgamated a memory of coming across beehives at the edge of woodland with my present interest in flight, and in this example, in swallows.  They congregate on the telegraph wires above and around my studio and their constant twittering accompanies my work in the summer months.  They have all but gone now.  It would be quieter but the wind and the rooks are filling the audible space left by the departed swallows.

I was playing with the syncopated rhythms created by the spacing of the trees, hives and swallows whilst working on this one.
