Because I’ve been enjoying working on paper a lot for a couple of years now, it struck me that there is lot of potential in using cross-over techniques onto canvas (and maybe vice-versa but I haven’t explored that so much yet).  This 46x76cm canvas has a lot of collage incorporated.  Because its easier to draw in a certain way on paper with a variety of tools and media, I painted/drew these stone walls on several pieces of paper first.  I could then glue them down in any combination that appealed to me, and which enlivened the composition.  I think this has allowed me to keep the freshness of the original drawings.  It also sped up the process of arriving at a satisfactory result without much over-painting or revision through over-painting..
