Since my last post a few days ago the ‘Artist Support Pledge’ scheme seems to be doing well. It has certainly made a big difference to me. Ten sales over a few days has been very gratifying and has spurred me to extend my own contribution to the scheme. http://simonpooley.com/galleries/
Meanwhile, life in lock down continues in its own surreal way. We live a fairly reclusive life here in west Cornwall but not to have left the small hamlet where we live and work for almost a month is requiring a large measure of resilience. Fortunately I’m still able to go out into the local fields and meadows to paint, but as I was discussing with an author neighbor, during one of these excursions recently, it isn’t easy to be creative with such a lot of ‘noise’ in your head. Corvid-19 simply won’t be relegated to a position of irrelevance however much we try.
If that wasn’t enough to raise the level of uncertainty our house sale has had to be put on hold. My studio equipment and painting materials were all packed away ready for removals when the virus struck and so I’m operating from boxes at the moment. Its a struggle but there are so many people in far worse situations that I consider myself very fortunate.
I do hope the followers of this blog are well and safe and continue to be so. I’ll see some of you again when we arrive on the other side off Coronavirus.
