An afternoon in the studio garden on a hot June day was great for taking photos .  A little later, having put my camera away, but kept the images In my mind, paint was drying on my brushes before I could paint with them.  But sometimes being forced to work very quickly results in focusing the mind and working with an intensity that can be rewarding one minute and frustrating the next.  Working on paper, this was my first attempt featuring Clematis and Osteospermum.  The latter grows like a weed here and is prolific.

Another vigorous plant in west Cornwall is Honeysuckle which is looking exquisite at the moment.  (I’d given up on paint by now.)
