This is a cat study using just black ink with a pea stick on Bristol paper.  For me this technique can be very hit and miss sometimes.  I have little control over how much ink will flow onto the paper at any time.  But once I’m ‘warmed up’ its possible to make the most of very liquid or very dry marks.  Using both on the same image, but making as few marks as possible, is a great opportunity to create a richer and more lively surface.  Achieving that feline character is the most important goal of course.
