Ancient fields, now meadows that have been colonised by trees and plants and now only partially defined by dilapidated granite ‘hedges’ are the subject for this exploratory painting on 28x28cm board. These cliff top meadows are one of my favourite locations for en plein air painting and this piece was painted from more than one of those drawings made in situ.
