The cove at St Loy is about a mile west of my studio. I used to be able to walk with our dog, Monty, there in about half an hour along the cliff top. It takes a while longer now and I go with our new dog, Frankie (he has ‘blue eyes’). A wood follows a stream until it reaches the cove and its granite boulder shoreline. This painting is not topographically accurate but its how I see it in my mind’s eye. The place has been reduced to its bare essentials. The elements wood, stone, water and air all present.
