A painting showing at the Stour Gallery at the moment. A wet corn stubble-field painted contre-jour on a bright morning which I called Celtic Trackway. Although inspired by the farmland which surrounds my studio and which I walk through every day (usually with my dog, Monty), I’m told that it could just as easily represent a landscape in the west of Ireland. I think there is a common feel to the western coasts of the UK which used to be inhabited by the celts.

the addition of a small red rectangle seems to have given this painting a richer life. To be shown very soon at Cornwall Contemporary Gallery in my current home-town, Penzance.
