Perranuthnoe, half an hour from my studio, is one of my favourite places to walk our dog and enjoy the coastal paths which criss-cross the small fields and meadows behind the beaches. Unusually, they are mostly down at sea-level and are usually edged by tamarisk trees. Not much else thrives in the salt winds, and for some reason they have been inspiring me for years. Above is a mixed media painting on a 40x50cm canvas and features these characteristic semi-transparent trees.
