I’ve been framing this week. I used to use a professional framer, but I’ve found that I just can’t ask him to make seemingly innumerable modifications to each frame to suit individual paintings. I just used to use white frames and mounts, but I don’t think its always the most appropriate colour because although its neutral, and minimalists like it, its just too bright for some paintings. Unfortunately I find the framing process a bit boring and repetetive, but life can’t be all creative and fun!
As I don’t have a painting to post that I’ve finished this week, I’m posting this one which was finished a few weeks ago and was inspired by a Paolo Conte song called ‘via con me’, which, although my Italian isn’t brilliant I understand to mean ‘come away with me’, but which has a nonsensical meaning in the context of this painting, except that ‘via’ can also mean ‘road’ or ‘street’. Just a play on words.
