Having worked, not exclusively, but predominantly with a palette of yellow and white, this small new painting (40x50cm) signals a change to a darker palette. It may be because we’ve recently experienced a British winter and as a painter I can only express myself by bringing out that which my senses have let in and found some sort of connection with.  My previous subject matter and colour preferences could be described as hot and dry, but this painting’s colour and subject is cool and damp. We’ll see where this change leads me in future.
